Terms Of Use

Welcome to PaperLink ("the App"). Please read these Terms of Use carefully before installing, accessing, or using the App and its related services. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Scope of Application#

• These Terms apply to the PaperLink iOS application provided by Overio, including its scanning, image processing, OCR, export, sharing, and document management features.
• Trial, beta, or enterprise variants derived from the App are equally subject to these Terms.
• In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and other notices, these Terms prevail. Supplementary terms issued for specific features form an integral part of these Terms.

2. Eligibility#

• You must have full civil capacity under the laws of the People’s Republic of China to use the App. Minors should use the App under the supervision of their legal guardians, who assume relevant responsibilities.
• You must ensure that all registration information and materials you provide are true, accurate, and complete, and promptly update them when changes occur.

3. Services#

• The App offers document scanning, automatic edge detection, perspective correction, enhancement filters, OCR recognition, PDF/JPG export, and local library management.
• Core features work offline by default. Certain enhancements or cloud-sync capabilities may require an internet connection and your explicit action.
• The App may integrate Apple or other third-party system services (e.g., iCloud, file sharing). Those functions are subject to the respective third-party terms.
• The App may be updated from time to time to improve performance or fix issues. Updates may lead to functional adjustments or changes.

4. User Conduct#

• You agree to use the App lawfully and refrain from any activities that violate laws, infringe the rights of others, or disrupt public order.
• Without authorization from rights holders, you must not scan, copy, store, or distribute content protected by intellectual property laws.
• You must not attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, tamper with, or bypass the App’s security measures.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your device and account information to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Content and Intellectual Property#

• You retain all rights and responsibilities for documents, images, OCR text, and other content created or imported through the App. The App does not claim ownership of user content.
• You must ensure that any content you upload, import, or share does not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• All software, interfaces, icons, algorithms, documentation, and other intellectual property embedded in the App belong to Overio or its licensors and may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative works without permission.

6. Scanning Quota System#

6.1 Quota Consumption Rules#

• The App uses a scanning quota (Credit) system to manage the use of scanning functionality
• Consumption Rule: Scanning 1 page consumes 1 Credit
• Non-consumption Scenarios: OCR recognition, PDF/JPG export, document sharing, and other operations do not consume quota
• Zero Balance: When your quota balance reaches 0, the scanning function will be disabled until you obtain more quota

6.2 Ways to Obtain Quota#

You can obtain scanning quota through the following methods:

• Initial Grant for New Users: Automatically receive 50 pages upon first registration
• Daily Login Reward: Receive 2 pages when you first open the app each day
• Monthly Automatic Grant: Automatically receive 30 pages on the 1st of each month
• Referral Reward: Successfully invite friends to register and complete their first scan, both parties receive 100 pages each (see Section 7)
• Quota Cap: Your quota balance can accumulate up to 10,000 pages; excess pages will not be added

6.3 Quota Management#

• All quota grants and consumption records are managed and stored by our servers
• You can view your current quota balance and history within the app
• Quota balance is based on server data; offline consumption will be synchronized when online
• We reserve the right to adjust quota rules with advance notice and reasonable transition period

7. Referral Reward System#

7.1 Invite Code Rules#

• Each user has a unique 4-character invite code (composed of uppercase letters and numbers)
• Your invite code is automatically generated when you first use the app
• You can view, copy, and share your invite code within the app

7.2 Referral Process#

The complete referral process is as follows:

1. You (inviter) view and share your invite code
2. A friend (invitee) manually enters your invite code during registration
3. The system validates the invite code and binds the referral relationship
4. The invitee completes their first scan within 7 days
5. Both parties automatically receive 100 pages of quota reward

7.3 Reward Rules#

• Bilateral Reward: After a successful referral, both the inviter and invitee each receive 100 pages
• Activation Window: The invitee must complete their first scan within 7 days after entering the invite code to activate the reward
• One-time Binding: Each user can only enter an invite code once; the binding cannot be modified or deleted
• Monthly Limit: Each account can have up to 100 successful referrals counted per month (rewards not issued for excess referrals)

7.4 Anti-Abuse Rules#

To ensure fairness of the referral system, we have established the following anti-abuse measures:

• Repeated registrations from the same device (identified by device identifier IDFV) do not count as valid referrals
• Mass registrations from the same IP address in a short time will trigger risk control, potentially delaying or canceling rewards
• When abnormal referral behavior is detected (such as batch fraud or fake registrations), we reserve the right to cancel related rewards and restrict account usage
• Referral relationships and reward distribution records will be retained long-term for auditing and dispute resolution

8. Fees and Third-Party Services#

• Core functionality of the App is currently provided free of charge. The scanning quota system is part of the free features and can be sustained through reasonable use and inviting friends.
• If premium features or subscriptions are introduced in the future, pricing, entitlements, and refund policies will be clearly disclosed within the App.
• When using cloud sync, OCR enhancements, or other third-party services, you must review and comply with the relevant provider's terms.

9. Privacy and Data Protection#

• The App requires access to your camera, photo library, and file storage to perform scanning, importing, and exporting. Related data is stored on your device by default unless you actively share or sync it.
• OCR and image processing occur on-device. If you opt in to cloud-based enhancements or synchronization, the associated data will be transmitted as instructed by you, and Overio will take reasonable measures to protect it.
• We may collect anonymous usage analytics (screen views and feature usage) to improve product performance. We do not perform ad personalization, do not collect IDFA, and do not collect, sell, or rent your personal information without authorization.
• For additional details, please refer to the Privacy Policy. In case of conflict between the Privacy Policy and these Terms, the Privacy Policy prevails with respect to privacy matters.

10. Security and Service Interruptions#

• You acknowledge that mobile applications may experience interruptions or data loss due to device, system, or network issues. Please back up important documents regularly.
• If you discover bugs or security vulnerabilities, please notify us promptly. We will address them within a reasonable timeframe but cannot guarantee immediate resolution.

11. Disclaimer#

• The App is provided on an “as is” basis. We make no express or implied warranties regarding suitability, accuracy, stability, or compatibility with third-party services.
• We are not liable for losses caused by device failures, network conditions, improper operations, or force majeure events.
• You bear sole responsibility for any legal risks or disputes arising from the content you scan, recognize, or export through the App.

12. Limitation of Liability#

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Overio is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.
• For direct damages attributable to our fault, our aggregate liability will not exceed the fees (if any) you have paid for the App.

13. Changes and Notifications#

• We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be announced via in-App notifications or on our official website.
• If you continue to use the App after an update, you are deemed to have accepted the revised Terms. If you disagree, you should cease using and uninstall the App immediately.

14. Termination#

• You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time.
• If you materially violate these Terms or applicable laws, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the App.
• Upon termination, you remain bound by obligations that should survive under these Terms, including confidentiality and intellectual property protection.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution#

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, excluding conflict-of-law principles.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiations fail, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent people’s court where Overio is registered.
