This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the data you provide in the PaperLinki app. Please read it carefully before using the app.

1. Information We Collect#

• Permissions and local data (for core features):
  • Camera permission: used to scan paper documents.
  • Photo library permission: used to import images for scanning.
  • OCR data: processed on-device and not uploaded.
• Account and quota management data:
  • Device identifier (IDFV): used for account identification, quota management, and abuse prevention.
  • Referral relationships: records your relationship with inviters or invitees for reward distribution.
  • Quota consumption records: tracks scan counts and credit balance for managing the scanning quota system.
  • IP address (temporary): collected only during registration and invite code binding to detect abnormal registration patterns and prevent fraud.
• Anonymous usage analytics (for product improvement):
  • Screen views and feature usage events (scan, filters, OCR, export, etc.).
  • App version, build number, locale/region, OS version.
  • Anonymous installation ID (stored in Keychain, not linked to device IDs/IDFA).

2. How We Use Data#

We use the collected information only for:

• scanning, cropping, and perspective correction
• OCR text recognition
• PDF/JPG export and local document management
• scanning quota management and reward distribution
• referral relationship tracking and bilateral reward system
• preventing abuse and fraud to ensure fairness of the reward system
• anonymous usage analytics and product performance analysis (via Firebase Analytics)

We do not perform ad personalization or ad tracking. We do not collect IDFA.

3. Data Storage and Protection#

• Documents, images, and OCR text are stored on your device by default and protected using system security mechanisms.
• We never sell or share your documents with third parties.

4. Your Rights#

• You may delete local documents in the app at any time.
• You may manage camera/photo permissions in system settings. The current version does not offer an in-app analytics toggle; analytics is anonymous and IDFA-free, and is used solely to improve product experience.
• You can view your scanning quota balance and referral reward records.
• Once an invite code relationship is bound, it cannot be modified or deleted to ensure the integrity of the reward system.

5. Scanning Quota and Referral Rewards#

5.1 Data Collection Scope#

To provide scanning quota management and referral reward features, we collect and process the following data:

• Device Identifier (IDFV): Used to create and identify your account, manage scanning quotas, and prevent the same device from registering repeatedly to obtain rewards.
• Referral Relationship Data: Records your invite code, the inviter's code you entered, and the binding timestamp, used for bilateral reward distribution.
• Quota Consumption Records: Records page consumption per scan, credit grants (initial gift, daily login, monthly grant, referral rewards), and current balance.
• IP Address (Temporary): Collected only during account registration and invite code binding to detect abnormal registration patterns (e.g., mass registrations from the same IP in a short time) and prevent fraud. IP addresses are used solely for risk control and are not stored long-term.

5.2 Purpose of Data Use#

The above data is used solely for:

• Managing your scanning quota balance to ensure normal scanning functionality
• Distributing rewards (50 pages for new users, +2 pages for daily login, +30 pages monthly, +100 pages each for successful referrals)
• Validating invite code validity and uniqueness
• Tracking referral relationships and automatically distributing bilateral rewards when invitees complete their first scan
• Preventing abuse such as repeated registrations from the same device or batch fraud
• Ensuring fairness and sustainability of the reward system

5.3 Data Retention Period#

• Referral Relationship Data: Retained long-term to maintain reward system integrity and audit trails
• Quota Consumption Records: Retained for 180 days for historical queries and data analysis
• IP Address: Temporarily stored only during registration/binding for risk control detection, automatically deleted after 24 hours
• Device Identifier: Associated with your account, retained for 30 days after you uninstall the app or delete your account, then permanently deleted

5.4 Data Sharing#

• We do not sell or rent your quota and referral data to third parties
• Quota and referral data are stored and processed only on our secure servers
• We do not share such data with any third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent

6. Third-Party Services#

• We use third-party SDKs strictly for functionality and anonymous analytics:
  • Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage analytics only. We deny ad storage (adStorage denied) and do not collect IDFA; log-only analysis.
  • (Optional) Crashlytics: crash reporting for stability.
  • Other local/system frameworks are used only to power features.
• These third-party services comply with relevant privacy standards and are used solely for functionality and product improvement; not for ad personalization.
